Miss {S} - Sebastopol Newborn Photographer

Truth be told, I don't photograph newborn babies all that often. They make me nervous. And, I feel that there are plenty of other local photographers who are far more talented with the little wee ones than I am.
However, if a client is interested in my style of newborn photography I will gladly meet with them and capture this special time in life. I approach newborn photography like I do all other sessions - with an open mind. My preference is to complete the session in the clients home for many reasons. Although it creates a more difficult technical time on my part, I am confident in pushing my camera to its limits, and I feel like the sessions are so much more meaningful in the home where the child was brought from the hospital. It also means that we can only work with the available light and that I do not bring a large variety of props for the occasion. My photography focuses on real photos of the babes in all of their newborn glory.
And I think that we captured Miss {S} in all of her beautiful glory when she was a mere 10 days old...

Isn't she beautiful?

Newborn features are so precious to capture and since they change so quickly it is really important to focus on them while you have the chance.

A perfect little sleeping beauty...

Miss {S} is very lucky to have two parents who, in an instant, had their world revolve strictly around her. The way that her mom and dad look at her is precious. And the way that her mom and dad look at one another is just even better. Clearly, it was my pleasure to spend time with this family of three in celebration of their daughters birth.
I was a little emotional during the session since I was so easily transported to my first week at home with my daughter and the day of our photo session we had with a local photographer on her 'one week birthday'. Despite how busy it can be bringing a new baby home, it is oh so important to schedule a photo session.
Time flies too quickly.
Please do yourself and your children a favor...get your picture taken. Often. Even if it is with a self timer on your point and shoot. Or your smart phone. Just remember to make it happen!
